The Secret to getting the BEST from your Candle...

January 5, 2018

You've purchased a candle from Angel Wood, which is a pretty good start (not biased at all...).  Naturally, you'll want to get the best from your candle - after all, you've chosen to spend your precious pennies on it.  So, we have decided to reveal some secrets about how you can get the best from your Angel Wood Candle...

1. Take it right to the Edge...

To ensure that your candle burns evenly, allow the wax to melt and pool right to the edges of the jar the first time you light it - this is very important. If you don't let the wax at the edge heat up and liquefy the first time, then it will stay hard for all subsequent burns and you know what this means? You're going to waste a tonne of precious wax!   I know you're tempted to light it for 5 minutes and blow it out to conserve the goodness - don't do it! I hate to break it to you, but it's not going to last forever, so, live on the edge - burn it to the edge!

2. Don't Panic...

You've taken the plunge and lit your candle for the first time. You're expecting scent straight away, instead all you see is a little smoke.  Don't panic.  When the wick is first lit you might see a little smoke - this is normal - your candle just needs time to draw up the wax properly.   The scent from our quality candles should fill your room just after an hour or two - be patient! If this isn't quick enough for you, then you're not looking for a scented candle girl, you need febreeze.

3. The Soot is getting on my Wick...

Soot coming from your candle every time you relight it?  Girl - you need to sort that out! Always trim your wick before relighting your candle to ensure any loose, unburned particles are removed (that's the big, black, bobbly thing on the top of the wick).  This will decrease the production of soot and help to keep your candle looking fab-u-lous.

Now all that's left to do is remove your candle from the packaging, find the perfect spot and burn it like a true candle connoisseur.
